Bethan & Tom - Engagement Photography Session
On the 7th July, I met up with Bethan & Tom who had arranged an Engagement Photography session close to their family home on the Mendips, Somerset. I had met the couple at a recent wedding fair and they’d chosen to do an engagement photoshoot after we talked about how they don’t often get photos together. However, they wanted to practise before their wedding day and get any nerves of being in front of camera out of the way.
We had agreed to meet at Stockhill Woods for the shoot, which is near the City of Wells and where their wedding reception will take place. We totally lucked out with the weather, we had beautiful light and a superb sunset. With Bethan & Tom feeling nervous, we headed straight into the woods, quickly got a few easy poses done first and soon after they felt a lot more at ease. We then headed to two more spots (‘Priddy Pools’ and what I’ve now labelled ‘The Lion King Tree’… you will see from the images below), trying out a variety of poses including a few we’ll do on the wedding day.
Confidence continued to grow the more photographs we took. I am a big advocate for couples having an engagement photography session before their big day. For a couple to go from being unsure at the start, to walking away really enjoying the experience, it gives both parties joy that on the wedding day they can relax and get fantastic photographs. I’ve highlighted this and more reasons to book an engagement shoot in a previous blog post.
Now let’s sit back, relax and enjoy a few photos from the engagement shoot with Bethan and Tom…
