Celebrating the Journey: Gratitude from Just James Weddings
As I sit down to reflect on the past few weeks, I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of gratitude and humility. Recently, I had the incredible honour of being named a finalist in not just one, but two prestigious wedding awards: The South West Wedding Awards and The Wedding Industry Awards - South West. While I didn’t walk away with the winner’s trophy, I feel like I’ve gained so much more - perspective, pride, and above all, an immense appreciation for the couples who have entrusted me with their most cherished memories.
When I first heard I was a finalist, I felt a wave of emotions. It was a mix of disbelief and elation. Being recognised by two respected institutions in the wedding industry was a moment I’ll never forget. For me, this isn’t just about personal achievement - it’s a celebration of the relationships I’ve built with my couples, the stories I’ve had the privilege to tell, and the shared effort it takes to make each wedding unforgettable.

One of the most humbling aspects of these awards was learning more about my fellow finalists. I was truly in awe of the incredible talent and dedication within the wedding industry in the South West. From photographers with decades of experience to creative visionaries who push the boundaries of artistry, every finalist brought something remarkable to the table. To be named alongside them was an honour in itself - a testament to the hard work, passion, and love that I pour into my craft.
These awards are not just a competition; they’re a celebration of excellence. The judges look at not only technical skill but also the experience we create for our clients, the relationships we build, our social media presence, website functionality, and the heart we put into what we do. Knowing this makes being a finalist even more special to me, as it reinforces that I am delivering something meaningful to those I work with.
